For snacktime...

Top: pickled daikon, seaweed salad, homemade shrimp gyoza, and a piggie of The Best Dipping Sauce Ever
Bottom: rice with furikake, grape tomatoes

I made gyoza with friends this weekend...mmm yummy! No recipe to post, however, as I did everything by taste. I used shrimp, carrots, green cabbage, scallions, wood ear mushrooms, garlic, and ginger, and I seasoned the mixture with salt, sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, and a little pepper (some also were made with chicken & shrimp). I cooked little mouthfuls of the filling mixture in the microwave so that I could taste and season according to my preferences. We ate the gyoza with the best dipping sauce ever -- you have to try it!

1/2 cup tamari
1 tbsp. water
2 tsp. sugar
2 tbsp. rice vinegar
1 scallion, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp. toasted sesame oil (regular sesame oil ok)
1 tsp. sesame seeds

  1. Whisk all ingredients until well-mixed.
  2. That's it. =^.^=

* You can also add hot pepper sauce or some other form of chiles to taste.

*Use gluten-free products.
